On October 26 the girls tennis team capped off a three week run that concluded with the IHSA State Tournament.  After winning both the ESCC Conference Championship and the IHSA Sectional Championship, the ladies finished second at the IHSA Class 1A State Championship.

Individually at the State Tournament, Daniella Nenadovich (Sectional Champion) was 6th in singles and the doubles team of  Kendall Schrader and Kaitlyn Lee (Sectional Champions) won the Doubles State Championship with three set wins in both the semifinals (over Normal U-High) and finals (over Chicago University).  The doubles team of Angela Mathew and Rachel Zilligen (Sectional Runner-Up) were top 16 in doubles and Caroline Austgen (Sectional Runner-Up) was top 24 in singles.

It was the best finish at state by the team since 2016 and only the second time is history the team qualified all six players for state.  Kendall-Kaitlyn became only the second individual/doubles tennis state champion, the first being Jane Jarosz-Hlis ‘81, who won the singles state championship in 1980.
