National Honor Society

“The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.”*

Membership in the Benet Chapter of NHS is granted by an application process.  Students must fulfill a list of requirements including a minimum GPA and conduct grade, approved number of Benet-sponsored service hours, letters of recommendation, and a personal essay.  Although students may not apply until the end of their sophomore or junior year, they may begin accumulating service hours during their freshman year.

The Benet Chapter of NHS is involved in a variety of activities throughout the year including tutoring, cooking meals for families at Ronald McDonald House, making fleece blankets for the needy, and organizing volunteers for numerous events both at Benet, such as Open Houses, and within the local community, such as the Turkey Trot in Downtown Naperville.
